Golden Bay Mountain Bike club has a Blog, which means you can see what's going on in the club without waiting for emails! (you will still get emails though!)
Basically it's a bit of a fun way to keep in touch. You can just take a look or you can sign in and write something or post a photo, or point out a website you think is worth checking out, or if you can't wait for the next club ride and you want to go on a ride somewhere, you can put it out there in the ether ........ http://baymtb.blogspot.com

Heritage Golden Bay Incorporated
Heritage Golden Bay is an interest group. HGB formed an Incorporated Society and has an elected committee. Their main objective is the recording and preservation of sites and structures of historic significance in Golden Bay and data that is gathered is shared with TDC Heritage Listing, NZ Historic Places Trust Register, Archaeological Assoc of NZ and the NZ Cemeteries Preservation Trust. The committee is made up of a cross section of people from other heritage interest groups.

The above photo was taken at the Pohara Band Rotunda when the group met in 2008 to hear the history of the Takaka Citizens Band and the building of the Rotunda in 1935 from speakers Max Page and Brian Petterson. The photo shows Heritage Golden Bay members and Rose Biss of Tasman District Council, who gave a presentation.
HISTORY
In 2006, Robin Manson, Tasman Bays Environment Trust and Jane McDonald, Tasman District Council Heritage sub-committee were made aware of a proposed subdivision that may require access through the Takaka Tramway line south of Takaka township. Realising that Golden Bay didn’t really have a voice on heritage matters, they invited Leslie Clarke, local historian and TDC Councillor, Stuart Borlase to join them in the formation of such a group.
Rose Biss, Policy Planner for TDC gave advice on how best to establish such a group and a public meeting was held to seek interest from the community.
The foundation members were pleased to have a large number of interested people representing both Collingwood and Takaka districts. Newcomers and settler families attended the inaugural meeting and a management committee was elected to formalize the objectives of the group and apply for Charity and Incorporated Society status.
OBJECTIVES
Heritage Golden Bay was established to:
Identify, research and record sites and structures of historic interest in Golden Bay from 1840 onward.
Provide and add historic information on such sites and structures to the listings held by the following bodies:
1. Tasman District Council Heritage List
2. NZ Historic Places Register
3. NZ Archaeological Association
4. NZ Cemeteries Preservation Trust
Record such sites and structures on a map of Golden Bay to be deposited with the Golden Bay Museum and published for visitors and the local community.
Actively engage local interest groups such as Collingwood Museum Society, Golden Bay Museum Society, Golden Bay Genealogy Group, Aorere Centre, Takaka Historic Society and others in the activities of the group.
Provide a database available for schools and researchers of Golden Bay history.
