Luminate Festival 2012 |

Location: Canaan Downs, Takaka Hill, Golden Bay, Tasman Luminate is an earth-friendly festival of music, dance, art and culture with a focus on environmental sustainability, intentional community, knowledge sharing, creativity and consciousness evolution. Tickets: a limited number of first round Early Birds ($135) will be available from Spring Equinox (23rd September), the second round of Early Bird Summer Special ($155) tickets begin 1st Nov – 21st Dec, after which the Standard pre-sales price applies ($185), with gate sales $200. Youth tickets (14-17 yrs) are $85. Tickets include access to the festival, activities & entertainment, entrance to workshops, pure water, eco toilets & showers, & eight days camping. Pohara Beach Fun Run 2012 |

Location: At the Pohara Beach Top Ten Holiday Park boat ramp. Access is through main entrance of the Park. If wet (no - it will not rain) postponement date is Monday 30th January from 7PM Registrations from 5:00pm, briefing at 5:45pm. Racing commences at 6pm. Fundraiser for the Takaka Athletics Club and run in conjunction with Golden Bay Recreation.

Venue: Golden Bay Recreation Park (Golden Bay Showgrounds) The Golden Bay A&P Show is an event worth experiencing, as this is truly a show where country meets town and all have a great time. Have your say with the cattle judges; eye up the sheep and goats; watch the horses from the 100yr old grandstand, or the shearing and wood chopping from a hay bale seat. Admire the cooking, flowers and handicrafts from locals and visitors and view the stunning photography display. Stroll around the many varied trade stands or sit back and listen to the entertainment. At Takaka Library Car Park It is a lively social, colourful event with lots of local produce. Listen to live music or see other entertainment, kids entertainment and a clown doing face painting. Stroll, sit, socialise, listen to music, buy, sell and sample our produce, vegetables, and fruits, plants, seedlings, soaps, herbal and therapeutic products and teas, snacks, coffee, books, crafts, clothing, art and photography, trinkets, surprises and much more.............!
