The Golden Bay Weekly is Golden Bay's locally-owned and locally-managed community newspaper. Its primary focus is on Golden Bay's people, issues and events. The Weekly distributes 2428 copies to every householder, boxholder and business in Golden Bay. It is also available by paid subscription to readers outside the Bay.

Golden Bay live weather website. The purpose of this site is to provide weather information to people living in the Bay or visitors to Golden Bay. The Weather Display Live shows (slightly delayed) live weather data from the Paynes Ford weather station from approximately 6am to midnight (local NZ time) and can run around the clock in a significant weather event.

Milnthorpe Park is a Scenic Reserve with recreational walking tracks set amongst re-generating forests, swamps, tidal inlet and Golden Bay beachfront. The Park is dedicated to the planting of trees, to replenishing a once barren land and to nurturing diversity of wildlife habitat.

On 1-2 September 2007 Golden Bay had a community forum with over 300 people attending over the two days. The focus groups listed, the self-reliance work that is taking place in the bay, and this web site is the result of that forum.The Self-Reliant Golden Bay Hub Group's short term goal is to support these focus groups and their work for a self-reliant Golden Bay.

The Prow celebrates, preserves and makes accessible the history, culture and stories of the top of the South Island of New Zealand - Nelson, Marlborough and Tasman. The Prow is a vessel for the stories of our region and is the result of a desire to develop an online ‘one-stop shop’ where people can read concise, fact-filled local stories and then use the subsequent lists of resources for further reading and research.

Golden Bay Community Gardens. The Organic Gardens began as a project of the Golden Bay Workcentre and was incorporated as the Te Wharerangi Trust in July 1991. The gardens consists of 2.2 hectares in central Golden Bay and features a diversified garden production area, educational worm farm, fruit and nut trees, shelterbelt and woodlot, and more.

The Village Theatre Society Inc. is a non-profit organisation that has been providing the people of Golden Bay with an entertainment venue since 1987. The Village Theatre has evolved from it’s humble beginnings to become the venue it is today, with comfortable seating and state of the art projection and sound equipment. Whilst plastic shopping bags are only light, flimsy articles - they are a frivolous emblem of our wasteful society, that has got used to consuming and throwing things away without thinking about the implications. Use cloth bags, baskets or cardboard boxes when you go shopping. Collingwood, just north of Takaka, has announced its decision to go completely shopping bag free, making it the first town in New Zealand to take such a stance.
