Catholic church

Sacred Heart
Mass Times: Sunday: 5pm. (Services are held in the hall behind the church until the church is strengthened for earthquakes)
The iconic Sacred Heart Marble Church was consecrated on 15th September 1918 by Archbishop Thomas O'Shea assisted by Frs Tymons and Kimbell before a large congregation. Up until the Christchurch earthquake in 2011, it remained the oldest marble Catholic Church still in use in New Zealand.
It is our earnest hope that we would be able to use this marble church
